Cataract Surgery: Infants and Children

#Congenital cataracts are found or soon developed in about 0.4 percent of all births and occurs in newborn babies for may reasons that include inherited tendencies, #infection, metabolic problems, diabetes, trauma, inflammation or drug reactions and can also occur when, during pregnancy, the mother develops infections such as #measles or #rubella, #rubeola, #chickenpox, #cytomeagalovirus, #herpessimplex, #herpeszoster. #poliomyelitis, #influenza and #toxoplasmosis.

#Pediatric eyes have a critical role in feeding the brain clear images of the world so that the brain can learn to process vision. #Congenital #Cataracts types include Anterior polar cataracts, posterior polar cataracts, nuclear cataracts, Cerulean cataracts.
